Three Rivers’ Heston Saunders awarded several TRACF scholarships

Three Rivers High School graduate recognized for academic and athletic achievements

Earlier this week the Three Rivers Area Community Foundation (TRACF) announced Three Rivers High School graduate Heston Saunders has been awarded several TRACF scholarships.

Saunders has been awarded the Eric “Boomer” Clemence Annual Scholarship, Gary L. Cottingham Scholarship, George Haines Scholarship, and Edward “Coach” T. Johnson and Patricia Johnson Scholarship.

English Language Arts teacher Ms. Zavala said Saunders has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in both athletics and academics.

“Education is important to Heston, and he has challenged himself throughout his high school career by taking three AP courses and a college class,” Zavala said.

“He is also a student in the Engineering Design and Manufacturing CTE class. Even with the rigorous course load, he manages to maintain a 3.97 GPA.”

Heston was a team captain in football and basketball, and excelled in track and field, competing on the varsity team for four years.

The Three Rivers Area Community Foundation congratulated Saunders on his achievements via social media, and wished him luck with his future endeavors.
