Sunday was as good as it gets for Charlie Wolgamood and countless other music lovers down on Main Street in Three Rivers.

The annual free admission HarmonyFest, featuring seven acts with setlists ranging from blues to Latin, attracted a crowd of all ages. From 1 p.m. until well past dark, the energy was up and the temperature was comfortably low.

“We’ve got a little bit of wind to keep things cool, which is going to be great for barbecuing tonight and when the music bounces of the buildings,” Wolgamood said.

Wolgamood is vice chair of the Three Rivers Downtown Development Authority (DDA). His colleague, DDA Executive Director Cameron Mains, had the privilege of introducing several acts.

“We started out of the gate with great talent and that’s exciting to hear,” Mains said shortly before 3 p.m. “I’m excited for the rest of the night.”

HarmonyFest’s seven acts included Spork Fight, Faux Beamage, Jesse Ray and The Carolina Catfish, Kalamazoo Pipe Band, The Kennedy Affair, Cabildo, and Desmond Jones. Jesse Ray Cahue and his bandmate, Paul L. Jensen, had a memorable first visit to Three Rivers.

“I couldn’t have asked for much better,” Jensen said.

“I loved it. I had a blast. It was a good time,” Cahue said.
