Downtown Three Rivers celebrates grand opening of new dog park

After “countless hours of labor” and planning, downtown Three Rivers now has a dog park. The Downtown Dog Park was unveiled Saturday at a grand opening celebration in Memory Isle Park.

“Our vision was to create a safe, welcome space where our beloved pets can run, play, and socialize,” Downtown Three Rivers said in a statement posted on social media. “We also wanted to provide a place where dog owners can meet, share stories, and build a stronger sense of community.”

The Downtown Dog Park was made possible through collaboration between the Three Rivers Planning Commission, the Three Rivers DDA (TRDDA) Dog Park Subcommittee, The Michigan Economic Development Corporation, and numerous donors.

“[…] We had 48 individual donations with some of our largest contributors being the Three Rivers Downtown Development, Useless Creatures Brewery, Cross Roads Veterinary Clinic, Daly Dope Dispensary, The Ballew/Mork Family, Colin Monroe, Horizon Bank, Timber Cannabis Company, and the Jacobs Family,” Downtown Three Rivers said in the aformentioned post.

The TRDDA says the park’s opening is a testament to what can be achieved when community members come together. “From the initial planning stages to the countless hours of labor, this project has been a true community effort.”
