The Three Rivers Police Department was notified Wednesday by medical personnel that a deceased woman found Friday, July 12 behind a residence on Middle Street has been identified as Nicole Marie Wood, 41, of Three Rivers.

Prior to her body being found, Wood had been reported as a missing person. On Tuesday, July 9, officers were dispatched for a report of a missing and endangered person, according to the police department’s Facebook page. The complainant reported Wood had been missing since Sunday, July 7. She was last seen in the area of River Drive and Middle Street.

“Currently, the investigation is still ongoing until the cause of death can be determined,” the police department stated Wednesday. “At this point, there is nothing to suggest that there is a threat to the community.”

The department extends its condolences to the family and friends of Wood during a difficult time.
