Registration open for Youth & Teens Talent Show in Kalamazoo

Kzoo Parks and the Kalamazoo Civic will host the Youth & Teens Talent Show from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Friday, August 16. The event will take place at Bronson Park, 200 S Rose St., as part of the Lunchtime Live! series. The show is free and open to students 18 and under.

Youth and teens ages 18 and under are invited to participate in the talent show with performances like singing, dancing, poetry, spoken word, instrumental music, skits, magic, comedy, martial arts, and juggling. The show is free to participate in and interested youth can register online through Thursday, July 25 at www.kzooparks.org/talentshow.​

Youth are encouraged to submit a performance video with their registration.​ The show will be hosted by Von Washington Jr., the executive director of community relations for the Kalamazoo Promise, and will feature up to 16 acts.

The Youth & Teens Talent Show will award a $250 Visa gift card for the first place winner, sponsored by Lake Michigan Credit Union. There will also be $150 and $100 Amazon gift cards for the second and third place winners, respectively. All participants will also receive a gift bag.

Rehearsals for the Youth & Teens Talent Show will take place at 3 p.m. in Bronson Park on Tuesday, August 6, and Thursday, Aug. 8.
