Cass County Sheriff’s Office investigating Juno Lake drowning

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a drowning that occurred Sunday on Juno Lake. A man was found to have fallen out of his kayak and was unable to swim.

Officials say the man had been fishing in his kayak at approximately 9:53 p.m. when he fell out. The Cass County Marine Division and Dive Team were dispatched to the scene.

The man was recovered from the water and pronounced dead. A life jacket was not worn, and alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.

Additional agencies called to assist with the investigation include SEPSA Fire, SEPSA Ambulance, Indian Lake Fire and Dive Team, and Penn Fire/Drone.
