The Kalamazoo County Veterans Service Office is seeking community input on the recipients of the 2024 Kalamazoo County Veteran of the Year Award.

The award was established to honor a local veteran whose contributions to veterans and the community go above and beyond and deserve special recognition for their continued service and years in uniform. The Kalamazoo County Veterans Service Office will present the award during a ceremony on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the Robert L. Cook Veterans Memorial Plaza in downtown Kalamazoo.

The service office is seeking nominations from local veterans and community members. Individuals may submit nominations online or email them to [email protected].

All nominations must include the name and contact information of the nominee; the nominee’s name, address, phone number, email address, military branch, and era of service; and a description of why the nominee deserves this year’s top honor. The nominee should also highlight their involvement with veteran organizations, volunteer activities related to veterans, and community service.

This is the sixth year the award has been presented. Nominations will be accepted online and will be considered by the Kalamazoo County Veterans Events Committee.
