A Bristol, Indiana, man was taken to the hospital after a motorcycle crashed into a truck in Porter Township Thursday night.

James Tran, 36, was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with injuries he received in the crash. It happened at approximately 6:44 p.m. on Sunset Boulevard north of Wayne Street, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office stated.

Tran was driving a northbound motorcycle when the road started to curve and he hit some loose gravel, which caused him to lose control of the motorcycle. The motorcycle ended up on its side and crashed into a southbound pickup truck driven by Andrew White, 35, Jones, Michigan.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been factors in the crash, the sheriff’s office said. SEPSA Ambulance and Porter Fire assisted at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
