HOPE running low on food, seeks donations in Three Rivers

A nonprofit serving unhoused individuals in Three Rivers is running low on food. The Homeless Outreach Practiced Everyday (HOPE) Resource Center said that as of Wednesday morning, they only have tomato soup and chickpeas on their shelves.

They also said that they receive donations of produce, bakery, and meat products twice a week, which helps fill food boxes. The organization is asking for the community’s help to fill their food boxes with items such as canned goods, side effects, cooking staples, and hygiene items.

“We are serving more and more of the most vulnerable in our community, seniors, shut-ins, and the those that depend on the food boxes to help extend their finances,” HOPE wrote on Facebook.

HOPE also reminds the community about an upcoming event where they will provide detergent, dryer sheets, and quarters for three loads of laundry to be washed and dried.

Loads of Love will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 6 at the Constantine Launderette located at 1020 S. Washington St. in Constantine. Local farmers, city gardeners, and the South Michigan Food Bank will provide fresh items including produce.
