Kalamazoo celebrating 5,000 lead water service line replacements

The City of Kalamazoo has reached a milestone in its ongoing effort to replace lead water service lines, marking the completion of 5,000 replacements.

A celebration to commemorate the achievement will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday, October 17 at the Edison Neighborhood Association, located at 816 Washington Ave.

The event will feature special guest speakers, including representatives from the White House, according to the City of Kalamazoo. Attendees can expect information about Kalamazoo’s water system and lead removal efforts, along with free food catered by Mi Pueblo.
