Local meeting primer: Three Rivers City Commission

Tonight the commission will discuss whether to apply for state grant funding to investigate the cost and logistics of removing the Portage Plant dam.

The Three Rivers City Commission will meet tonight, Tuesday, February 4 at 6 p.m. Scheduled business includes moving forward with the purchase of airport acquisition parcels, purchasing fire hydrants, and discussing the funding on the study of Portage Plant dam removal. 

“There are State grant funds available up to $100,000 to investigate the potential for removing Portage dam,” according to a financial statement. “The City is being asked to be the grant recipient.” 

Tonight’s meeting will take place at Three Rivers City Hall, 333 W. Michigan Ave. Its agenda can be found below.​​​​​​
