Many gathered in the Huss Imaginarium on Saturday evening for a celebration of community and a reminder of the importance of supporting one another in a small town. This year's Watershed Voice Artist Showcase was the longest in the event's history, stretching nearly four hours and highlighting a wide range of musicians, poets, and performers.

This Saturday, July 25 beginning at 6 p.m. Watershed Voice will showcase artists from Southwest Michigan and beyond at the Huss Project's Imaginarium, located at 1008 8th St. in Three Rivers.
The sixth annual Watershed Voice Artist Showcase is exactly one month away, which means we need to finalize our poster to get it printed and in a downtown storefront window near you. Alek and Doug provide a preview of the upcoming Watershed Voice Artist Showcase and unveil this year's lineup. The celebration of local talent and local journalism will take place Saturday, July 25 at 6 p.m. inside the Huss Project's Imaginarium (1008 8th St., Three Rivers). The duo's return to their respective mics comes two months after their last episode, as they attempted to secure a very special guest for Keep Your Voice Down's 100th episode. They explain who they hoped to land, and why it won't likely happen despite their best efforts.
Watershed Voice columnist Aundrea Sayrie is introducing a new series exploring how loss lives in everyday lives, and its impact on mental health. This month she will examine the "mother wound," and how a month she once looked forward to feels different, forcing her to "confront the distance" between who she is and who she wants to be.
Barnes, who has previously performed at the Watershed Voice Artist Showcase in Three Rivers and had several works published by the news and culture magazine, was recently awarded a writing residency at Chateau Orquevaux in the Champagne-Ardenne region of France. He described the experience as life-changing. “The artists — writers, painters and other creatives — would gather. We walked together, explored the grounds, shared our art, cried, laughed and built deep bonds quickly. It was transformative.”
Executive Editor Alek Haak-Frost shares a poem he wrote titled "The Truth Giving Tree," in honor of Watershed Voice's 2025 NewsMatch campaign.
The path to publishing began when Camarillo shared her work publicly for the first time in 2024 at a small open mic night in a church basement.
"Each artist produces and shares from a deeply personal space. These types of intentional interactions foster deeper connections and community," Aundrea Sayrie said in a statement after the event.
