A free community cookout organized by local music label Misfit Mafia Entertainment is set to bring families together in Three Rivers for an afternoon filled with food, music, and neighborhood spirit.

It will take place Saturday, May 24 from 1-4 p.m. on Pleasant Street in Three Rivers.

The event, organized by Nolan Malcom, founder of Misfit Mafia Entertainment, will feature free food, yard games, and music from multiple DJs. Among them is DJ Downtown, a former local now based in Chicago, returning to reconnect with the community.

Malcom said the goal of the event is simple: bring people together in a positive and family-friendly environment. “A day like this, where everybody can come together with their friends and neighbors, brings the kind of energy I want to see more of,” he said.

While attendees are invited to bring side dishes to share, all main food and entertainment costs are being covered by Malcom, with additional support from sponsors matching his contributions. The event will also include opportunities for charitable donations to benefit local causes.

Six local volunteers have agreed to assist during the event, which Malcom emphasized is not about promoting his music but about creating a space for unity and peace. “It’s not about pushing my music,” he said. “It’s about giving back to the community.”

Music will be played throughout the afternoon by DJs affiliated with Misfit Mafia Entertainment, but there will be no live performances.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, residents can reach out to Misfit Mafia Entertainment directly.
