Cass County residents selected for jury duty will notice changes to the process starting in August, as the Cass County Clerk/Register of Deeds Office rolls out a new summons system.

Clerk/Register Monica McMichael announced the county is transitioning to a more modern approach for notifying prospective jurors. Instead of the traditional paper forms, recipients will now receive a postcard with instructions to complete a questionnaire online.

“This update is intended to make the jury process more efficient and user-friendly,” McMichael said. “We want residents to know this is a legitimate change, and there’s no cause for concern when receiving one of the new postcards.”

The redesigned postcards will list “Cass County Courts, 60296 M-62, Cassopolis” as the return address. On the back, recipients will find a QR code and web link to the Juror Access website, where they can securely fill out their required information.

For those without internet or smartphone access, assistance is available by calling the Clerk/Register’s Office at (269) 445-4464.

Postcards for August jury trials are expected to be mailed next week. McMichael encourages recipients to read the instructions carefully and be prepared to report as directed.

A sample image of the new jury summons postcard has been released to help residents identify the updated format.
