Three Rivers police have identified suspects in connection with vandalism reported at Armstrong Park overnight August 17-18.

Deputy Chief Sam Smallcombe confirmed Monday that the incident was logged under case number 1732-25. While suspects have been identified, Smallcombe said police are awaiting additional documentation before submitting the case to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

“We are not releasing a whole lot at this time because we are still investigating and it may connect with other crimes that occurred over the weekend,” Smallcombe wrote in a text message to Watershed Voice.

The River Country Sports Commission said in a Sunday evening social media post that suspects had admitted to causing the damage, and that volunteers would begin work the following day to repair the fields.
