Sturgis resident arrested for Three Rivers break-in

A 25-year-old Sturgis resident was arrested Friday after they were found breaking into a garage in Three Rivers.

A 25-year-old Sturgis resident was arrested Friday after they were found breaking into a garage in Three Rivers.

At approximately 8:15 a.m. Friday, March 26, Three Rivers Police were dispatched to a breaking and entering in progress. The homeowner reported a subject broke into his garage and was still in the garage at the time of the call. Upon arrival officers observed forced entry into the garage and could hear the suspect inside. 

Three Rivers Police K9 Jake gave warning to the suspect, who immediately complied with police, was taken into custody without further incident. The subject was found to be under the influence and in possession of methamphetamine, in addition to suspected stolen property.

The 25-year-old parole absconder was lodged in St Joseph County Jail for home invasion and possession of methamphetamine.
