Glen Oaks Community College seeks nominations for annual awards
The awards — Distinguished Alumni Award, Fellows Award, Part-Time Teaching Award, and the E.J. Shaheen Chair for Teaching Excellence Award — recognize outstanding contributions in education, community service, and support of the college.

Glen Oaks Community College is accepting nominations for four awards to be presented at its annual awards ceremony on April 9, 2025.
The awards — Distinguished Alumni Award, Fellows Award, Part-Time Teaching Award, and the E.J. Shaheen Chair for Teaching Excellence Award—recognize outstanding contributions in education, community service, and support of the college. The ceremony will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program at 6 p.m.
The Distinguished Alumni Award, given by the Glen Oaks Foundation, honors a Glen Oaks alum who has demonstrated excellence in their career, community service, or contributions to the college.
The Fellows Award recognizes an individual or institution for exceptional support of the college through long-term dedication, community engagement, or direct contributions to students. Former and retired employees are also eligible.
The E.J. Shaheen Chair for Teaching Excellence Award, also presented by the Glen Oaks Foundation, is awarded to a faculty member who exemplifies high professional standards and excellence in teaching. The honor includes a monetary award.
The Part-Time Faculty Teaching Excellence Award is given annually to an adjunct or part-time faculty member who demonstrates outstanding teaching and commitment to student success.

Completed nominations must be submitted to the President’s Office by 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
