Cass County Board to interview administrator candidates Thursday
Candidates were selected based on qualifications outlined in a job description approved by the Cass County Board of Commissioners.

The Cass County Board of Commissioners will hold a special public meeting on Thursday, May 1, to conduct the first round of interviews for the county’s next administrator.
The board will interview three candidates throughout the day, following a process developed by the Administrator Search Ad Hoc Committee — a group of county leaders appointed to oversee the hiring. The search is being conducted in partnership with the Michigan Leadership Institute, a nonprofit organization specializing in executive recruitment for public sector positions.
Candidates were selected based on qualifications outlined in a job description approved by the Board of Commissioners. The interview schedule for Thursday is as follows:
- 10 a.m. — Michael D. Belsky
- 11 a.m. — Kipling C. Belcher
- 1 p.m. — Patrick S. Jordan
Each interview will last approximately one hour and take place in the Commissioners Chambers on the third floor of the Cass County Historic Courthouse Administration Building, 120 N. Broadway, Cassopolis. The public is welcome to attend. The interviews will also be livestreamed on the Cass County YouTube channel. Candidate application materials are available on the County’s website as part of the meeting agenda.
Following Thursday’s interviews, the board may choose to invite up to two candidates for second interviews, which would be held during another special meeting on Thursday, May 15. If scheduled, the second-round interviews will include public meet-and-greet sessions. A tentative schedule for that day includes:
- Noon to 1 p.m. — Public meet and greet with Candidate 1
- 1 p.m. — Second interview with Candidate 1
- 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. — Public meet and greet with Candidate 2
- 3:30 p.m. — Second interview with Candidate 2
The second interview schedule will be confirmed following Thursday’s meeting. Any updates will be posted on the county website and shared with the media.
All meetings are open to the public.
