A suspect fleeing on a stolen motorcycle was apprehended Tuesday afternoon following a coordinated effort involving a K-9 unit, drone surveillance, and a special response team, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies attempted a traffic stop around the area of Shimmel Road and Storms Road when the suspect refused to stop, initiating a brief pursuit. The suspect later abandoned the motorcycle and fled on foot, authorities said.

Law enforcement quickly established a perimeter and deployed a K-9 unit, drone, and members of the Saint Joseph Valley Special Response Team to aid in the search.
