Watershed Voice to host fifth annual artist showcase in Three Rivers Saturday

Join us this Saturday for a celebration of local artists and local journalism at The Huss Project in Three Rivers. Read this preview for more details about the event and its performers.

Showcase week is upon us, and we’re here for it. Join us this Saturday at 6 p.m. for a celebration of local artists and local journalism at The Huss Project (1008 8th St.) in Three Rivers.

Ten artists will perform music and poetry to benefit local nonprofit news magazine Watershed Voice. Admission is $5 per person, and donations are encouraged. As always, there will be a 50/50 raffle, the winner of which will be announced toward the end of the show. The winners of our monthly donation giveaway will also be announced if we receive enough entries by the end of Saturday’s show.

Limited seating will be provided but guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.

The showcase will feature music and poetry containing explicit language. While the event is open to all ages, the decision of whether or not to attend is left to the discretion of a child’s parents. 

Here is the order of Saturday’s lineup and information about each performer.

Aundrea Sayrie

A native of Phoenix, Arizona Aundrea Sayrie first learned to love words as a foster child and used to them as a way to make sense of the world around her. In high school she became fully aware of her talents after being given the opportunity to perform for, and dine with Dr. Maya Angelou’s family. After seeing closed doors open one after another, she is a firm believer in the power of words, faith and a strong spirit. She most enjoys expressing themes of self-love, hope, healing, and social justice through poetry. Her greatest desire is to encourage those around her to discover their truth, and to honor it by passionately living on purpose.

Mitchie Moore

Mitchie Moore is an independent hip-hop and R&B artist from Three Rivers, Michigan, known for his experimental and genre-blending music. He began creating music in 2015 and has since developed a diverse discography that spans multiple EP’s, singles, and full-length albums.

Mitchie Moore’s music is available on all major streaming platforms.

Zach “Lucky” Fultz (Guitarist, recording artist, beat producer)

Zach, born November 22, 1996 in Three Rivers, got into music at the age of 12. He started by teaching himself how to play the acoustic guitar, and branched out to learning piano, ukulele, banjo and harmonica.

Zach fell in love with hip-hop as well, the album that made him love hip-hop as a child was “Be” by Common. His music genres fluctuate between Rap and Urban Folk depending on his mood.

This will be his second time performing at the Watershed Voice showcase after releasing his debut album Riverside Drive in February of this year.

Torrey Brown

Torrey Brown is a devoted husband and father, and a graduate of Three Rivers High School (Class of 1995). He was inducted into the Three Rivers High School sports hall of fame in 2022. He is a community leader, organizer, and activist, a Three Rivers at-large city commissioner, fighter for social justice, and a poet.

Sabrina Banks

Sabrina Banks is a mother of four and grandmother of 19, who loves to cook and spend time with her family and friends. Sabrina’s greatest dream as a child was to become a professional singer. One of her biggest accomplishments was performing at a convention with thousands of people. In addition to bringing her through some difficult times, music has also brought her joy. Musicians like Lauryn Hill, Monica, and Jasmine Sullivan are among some of her favorite singers. It’s impossible to travel back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending. The more you fight for your dreams, the more your dreams will fight for you.

Debbie Allen

Debbie M. Allen is a poet and spoken word artist hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With years of creative practice, she has established herself as a compelling voice in poetry, authoring three poetry collections and bringing her work to life at community events. 

Her poetry is characterized by its candid emotional range, distinct cadence, and commitment to social awareness and mental health. She currently resides in Three Rivers, where she remains dedicated to using poetry as a tool for community building, positive change and fostering connections.

Mick Kolassa

Mick Kolassa is a lifelong musician and hardcore blues addict. He recently moved back to Three Rivers after spending 35 years in Mississippi and Memphis, learning and performing the blues while teaching at the University of Mississippi. Rather than staying within a single genre of blues, Mick loves and celebrates all styles of blues, so he calls his style “Free Range Blues.” 

Whether it is a Delta Blues song from the 1930s, Piedmont Blues, Chicago Blues, Memphis style Soul Blues, slick city blues or cool country blues, Mick loves and plays them all. He also loves to find the blues hidden in songs of other genres, “bluesifying” songs and doing what he calls “uncovers.”

Mick has released 15 blues albums and has performed in many legendary blues venues throughout the world as well as at multiple blues festivals in North America and Europe. He delivers lively and animated performances, assuring that the fans enjoy themselves as they listen to him playing his Free-Range Blues©.

Nicky No Love

Melodic rapper Nicky No Love is originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina, and currently resides in Constantine, Michigan. His mixture of hip hop and melodics has helped him form his own lane and sound. He started off ghostwriting for other artists and decided to go his own way. 

Since his departure from NC, Nicky has gained a sponsorship from exotics, and has become a community leader. He hosts cookouts for local families, and founded Footwear for Falcons, where he takes donations for underprivileged youth and helps them secure footwear for school and after school activities. Nicky’s ultimate goal is to support and bring the community together.

Just Mikel., born Mikel James Watkins on June 10,1999, is a father, singer-songwriter, producer, engineer, DJ and mental health advocate based out of Southern Michigan. Mikel is a credited and prominent independent artist with placements all over the United States, and a fan base reaching across 64 countries. He attended the conservatory of recording arts and sciences to hone his craft with unique sounds and song writing influence. His ultimate goal is to help influence youth with sharing his struggles and mistakes, hoping they don’t make the same ones.

Courtney Moore

Courtney Moore is a singer and songwriter from Three Rivers, Michigan, whose voice carries both soul and storytelling. A proud mother and passionate artist, Courtney has been singing for as long as she can remember, pouring her life experiences into every lyric and melody.

She released her debut album in 2019 and has since followed up with another full-length album, an EP, and a steady stream of singles— all showcasing her growth, versatility, and raw authenticity. Whether on stage or in the studio, Courtney creates music for people to feel seen, heard, and understood. 

With each performance, she brings a powerful blend of heart, honesty, and connection. Her music is more than just sound — it’s a shared experience.

Alek Haak-Frost (Host)

Alek Haak-Frost is the executive editor, publisher, and founder of Watershed Voice, and a graduate of Central Michigan University. Prior to establishing WSV in 2020, he wrote for a number of publications including The Midland Daily News and The Morning Sun, and served as managing editor of the Three Rivers Commercial-News for the better part of three years.

In 2022, Haak-Frost won the Public Service Award and Outstanding Coverage Award at the LION Local Journalism Awards in Austin, Texas. He was a finalist for the LION Public Service Award again in 2023.
