Watershed Voice’s Summer Fundraising Drive starts today

Donate today or any time in the next two weeks (August 4 through August 18) to help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $5,000. Whether it’s a one-time donation or a monthly contribution, your support can make a difference.

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

For the next two weeks we will be asking our readers to become supporters and our supporters to become champions of local nonprofit journalism. Watershed Voice doesn’t charge the general public for its work because we want to ensure — regardless of how much money you make — you’ll always have access to the same information as everyone else.

While we don’t charge you to access our work, the work itself costs money, and in order to continue producing the quality journalism you’ve come to expect from us, we need your support.

Our staff of three makes $1,870 a week, which means we need to raise just shy of $7,500 a month to make payroll, and at least another $1,000 to pay our bills. Our funding doesn’t come from major corporate sponsors or advertising, instead we mainly rely on grants and donations from supporters like you.

It’s no secret nonprofits across the country are facing serious economic challenges as federal funding is being slashed, impacting the availability of philanthropic dollars available at every level. We have every intention of continuing to provide the information you need to better understand the communities you live in, and even the ones you don’t. But in order to do that we need to pay our people and we can’t do that without your help.

Donate today or any time in the next two weeks (August 4 through August 18) to help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $5,000. Whether it’s a one-time donation or a monthly contribution, your support can make a difference.
