Glen Oaks Community College (GOCC) will induct alumna Kathy Bingaman into its Arts Hall of Fame on Tuesday, November 12, coinciding with the opening of her solo exhibition, “ART-iquities: Old and New Entwined.”

The free public event will take place from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in the Flora Kirsch Beck Gallery on the Grand Concourse at GOCC, 62249 Shimmel Rd. in Centreville.

After graduating from GOCC in 1981, Bingaman studied under Harvey Gordon before becoming an artist and businesswoman. Her artwork has garnered acclaim in both Michigan and southern Florida, where she resides during the winter months.

The “ART-iquities: Old and New Entwined” collection showcases Bingaman’s signature style, which blends antique themes with contemporary artistic techniques, creating a thought-provoking “dialogue between past and present,” as described by the artist.
