Juvenile arrested after armed confrontation with Cass County deputies
A juvenile was taken into custody Sunday after allegedly pointing a firearm at Cass County sheriff’s deputies and later threatening them with knives, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

A juvenile was taken into custody Sunday after allegedly pointing a firearm at Cass County sheriff’s deputies and later threatening them with knives, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 2 p.m. August 9 to a report of a masked, armed person near Dailey road and Pine Lake Street in Jefferson Township. An area resident reported the person was attempting to break into a home, according to Sheriff Clint Roach.
Deputies located and confronted the juvenile, who allegedly raised a firearm and pointed it at them. A deputy then fired at the juvenile, and the juvenile dropped their firearm and fled.
The juvenile was taken into custody minutes later after reportedly threatening officers with knives, according to the sheriff’s office. An assisting officer used a taser during the arrest.
No injuries were reported, and the suspect was lodged at a juvenile facility. Authorities said there was no ongoing danger to the public.
