Second Cat Hoarding Situation Addressed, This Time in Three Rivers

Following a previous situation in which more than 140 cats were seized in a hoarding situation in Park Township, Three Rivers Police Department (TRPD) responded to a similar situation in the 100 Block of North Lincoln Avenue this week.

Over 140 cats seized in Park Township hoarding situation

As a result of the investigation, over 140 cats ranging from newborn to adult cats were seized from the inside the home. It took officials several hours to capture the animals. Several of the cats appeared to have health issues and will be evaluated by animal control staff and other professionals. It was determined that two of cats needed to be euthanized immediately.

Suspect Jailed After Chase; Deputies Seek Theft Info

A suspect is in jail after a high-speed chase last Thursday that began in Indiana. The 34-year-old Constantine man was apprehended on U.S. Highway 12 in White Pigeon Township shortly before midnight on July 30.
