Resident receives award for life-saving actions

River Run Road resident Danny Madden is the recipient of the 2020 Citizen Life Saving Award for St. Joseph County. Madden responded after a neighbor was involved in a lawn mower accident on Memorial Day 2020, this past Monday, May 25.

Fabius Township approves boundaries for special assessment district

The Fabius Township Board approved the boundary of a special tax assessment district on Edgewood Drive during a public hearing at its monthly meeting Wednesday evening.

City approves sidewalk seating for Riviera Theatre Bar

At its regular meeting Tuesday, the Three Rivers City Commission passed a resolution in favor of outdoor, café-style sidewalk seating for the Riviera Theatre Bar. The resolution will help the bar obtain a permit from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), which oversees and regulates street and sidewalk obstructions on North Main Street. Outdoor seating will allow the bar to reopen after pandemic restrictions forced it to shut down last week.

Bellevue man drowns in Leidy Lake

A 24-year-old male from Bellevue (Eaton County) drowned in Colon Township Saturday afternoon after walking into deep water in Leidy Lake, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.
