Three Rivers Promise hosting second annual Run for the Future Saturday at Armstrong Park

Join the Three Rivers Promise at Armstrong Park on Saturday April 15 at 9 a.m. for the second annual Run for the Future 5K and one mile Fun Run/Walk. All proceeds from the event, which will include a post-race celebration with drinks, food, and awards, will benefit the Three Rivers Promise.

Proposed Three Rivers classroom display policy tabled

The issue of whether to adopt a policy regarding flags and other displays in Three Rivers classrooms was tabled at a Three Rivers Community Schools Board of Education meeting Monday night. Assurances were made that the board would continue crafting the policy at a future work session.

Three Rivers students to conduct large scale study on city’s water

Three Rivers High School students studying Applied Physics are conducting a large scale study of the town’s water quality. Led by teacher Joe Graber, the class will be using commercially available water testing kits. The students are asking for the public to obtain water samples from their homes to aid in the database they are building with collected results.

Fate of Three Rivers schools’ proposed classroom displays policy to be decided next week

A decision will be made at an upcoming Three Rivers Board of Education meeting on whether to accept a new policy regarding flags and other displays in classrooms.

Three Rivers Middle School (TRMS) recently opened the “Kindness Kloset” and now every student has access to school supplies and personal items, all for free.

Candidate Questionnaire: Linda Baker for Three Rivers Community Schools Board of Education

Watershed Voice sent out questionnaires to local candidates running for Three Rivers City Commission, St. Joseph County Commission, Three Rivers Board of Education, and Glen Oaks Community College Board of Trustees. In the days leading up to the election on Tuesday, November 8, Watershed will publish the questionnaires in the order they are received. Linda Baker, who is running for Three Rivers School Board, filled out WSV’s questionnaire. Here are her answers.

Kadant Johnson makes $50,000 pledge to Three Rivers Promise 

The Three Rivers Promise received a huge boost to its fundraising efforts this week when Kadant Johnson pledged $50,000 to the scholarship program. In addition, Kadant Johnson will match all corporate donations up to an additional $50,000. The locally based company will go a step further, inviting all its employees to donate to the Promise with the guarantee of a matching donation from Kadant Johnson.
