Three Rivers motorcyclist dies following crash

A 45-year-old Three Rivers resident was pronounced dead Sunday following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash near Hoffman Street and Wood Street in Three Rivers.

A 45-year-old Three Rivers resident was pronounced dead Sunday following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash near Hoffman Street and Wood Street in Three Rivers.

Officers from the Three Rivers Police Department were dispatched to the area at approximately 9:08 p.m. Sunday, June 14, and upon arrival administered first aid to a motorcyclist who had crashed. The Three Rivers Fire Department transported the rider to the Three Rivers Health emergency room from where the victim was airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.

The 45-year-old was later pronounced dead at Bronson after succumbing to injuries sustained in the crash.

Following an initial investigation it appears the rider was traveling eastbound on Hoffman Street when they lost control and laid the motorcycle down, leaving the roadway and striking a pole before coming to rest in a field. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the family.

A member of the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation of the crash.
