At approximately 11:40 p.m. Saturday, January 29, officers stopped a vehicle for a civil infraction. During the course of the traffic stop officers became suspicious of the driver’s behavior and answers to their questions, so K9 Django was utilized to conduct a search of the exterior of the vehicle. During the search K9 Django alerted officers, leading to the discovery of a loaded pistol, a significant amount of methamphetamine, and other related narcotic items.

The driver was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and several other felony firearms violations. He is currently lodged in St. Joseph County Jail without bond.
