Around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, September 3, officers located the aforementioned suspect in the 1200 block of Hov Aire Drive in Three Rivers, where the suspect had barricaded himself “inside a third party’s apartment.” Officers from the TRPD and deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department attempted to engage in negotiations with the suspect, and the St. Joseph County Special Response Team was activated.

A search warrant for the residence was obtained, and multiple attempts to contact the subject were made before police entered the building. Once inside, authorities discovered the suspect had broken through several walls of adjoining apartments and was able to escape.
