Mason Township crash injures one
All occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, officials say. Porter Fire and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
One person was injured after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Cassopolis Road and Mason Street in Mason Township on Saturday, August 10, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
At around 1:13 p.m., deputies responded to the crash. Jaime Anway, 47, of Wayne, Michigan, was traveling eastbound on Mason Street and failed to stop at a stop sign. Martha Lee, 77, Cassopolis, was traveling southbound on Cassopolis Road when her vehicle was struck by Anway’s vehicle. Lee’s vehicle was forced off the road.
Anway’s vehicle had a passenger, Sara Anway, 47, Wayne, at the time of the crash. Lee was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for her injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
