Southwest Michigan chapter of Face Addiction Now (FAN) launched
FAN is a Michigan-based organization dedicated to empowering individuals, families, and professionals to address and prevent addiction.

A new chapter of Face Addiction Now (FAN) has been launched to serve Berrien, Cass, and St. Joseph Counties. The chapter’s launch was celebrated on October 29 at the Law & Courts Building in Cassopolis.
The event featured community leaders and professionals from all three counties. Lori Ziolkowski, a mother to an adult child who overdosed, delivered a keynote address. Ziolkowski shared her experiences and highlighted the importance of FAN’s support for families facing addiction. She emphasized that FAN provides much-needed support for families in situations like hers, support that was unavailable to her and her family.
FAN is a Michigan-based organization dedicated to empowering individuals, families, and professionals to address and prevent addiction. The organization offers a variety of programs, including support groups, recovery coaching, naloxone training, and educational forums. FAN’s programs are designed to support those in recovery and the families and communities impacted by addiction.
The Southwest Michigan FAN Chapter will be led by a board of members representing all three counties. The board includes retired Judge Sue Dobrich, who will serve as chapter president.
“FAN will be a source of services for individuals who face addiction but also families who are experiencing it,” Dobrich said.
The chapter’s initial focus will be establishing quarterly educational forums to provide information, offer community support, and foster collaboration across the counties.
