Kalamazoo residents invited to shape future of Verburg Park
Kzoo Parks aims to create a more active park that is welcoming and accessible for everyone. The city is open to all suggestions.

Kalamazoo residents are invited to share their vision for the future of Verburg Park at a public input meeting hosted by Kzoo Parks on Tuesday, November 19. The meeting will take place from 4-7 p.m. at the Mayors’ Riverfront Park Community Room.
The meeting will focus on gathering community feedback for the upcoming renovation project at Verburg Park. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the project’s goals and timeline, review potential designs and features, and provide input.
Kzoo Parks aims to create a more active park that is welcoming and accessible for everyone. While a few possible amenities have been identified through the Kzoo Parks Master Plan, including a new picnic shelter, a bicycle pump track, an accessible kayak launch, and a soccer field, the city is open to all suggestions.
Community input will be gathered through early 2025. Following the design phase, construction is expected to take place during the second half of 2025.
Residents unable to attend the meeting can submit comments via email to kzooparks@kalamazoocity.org.
