Fabius Township structure fire results in death of 91-year-old man

A 91-year-old Three Rivers man was pulled from a burning structure Sunday night in Fabius Township but was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.

A 91-year-old Three Rivers man was pulled from a burning structure Sunday night in Fabius Township but was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies and fire personnel were dispatched to the 14000 block of Coon Hollow Rd. in Fabius Township on Sunday, January 29 at approximately 8:18 p.m. with reports of a structure fire. The name of the victim is being withheld as authorities notify next of kin. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were the Fabius Park Fire Department, Three Rivers Fire Department, Michigan State Police, and American Red Cross.
