Single vehicle crash causes power outage in Park Township

Some residents of Park Township lost power over the weekend due to a single-vehicle crash in the area of Silver Street and Michigan Avenue, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.

Some residents of Park Township lost power over the weekend due to a single-vehicle crash in the area of Silver Street and Michigan Avenue, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.

At approximately 10:54 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, deputies were dispatched to the scene, where an initial investigation into the crash revealed the driver, a Marcellus woman, ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. The driver’s six passengers were all treated on scene and released, while the driver was arrested on pending operating while intoxicated charges and lodged at St. Joseph County Jail.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Fabius-Park Fire Department, Three Rivers Fire and Ambulance, Consumers Energy, and Brokers Towing.
