Sturgis reminds residents of Snow Removal Emergency parking ban

Vehicles found in violation of the ban will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense. The fine for violating the Snow Removal Emergency parking ban is $50.

With winter weather approaching, the Sturgis Department of Public Safety is reminding residents about when it’s not okay to park on city streets.

Parking on all city streets is prohibited during Snow Removal Emergencies. The ban goes into effect when an emergency is declared and remains in place until the storm ends and all streets have been cleared between two consecutive intersections.

Residents are encouraged to monitor social media and local news sources for announcements about impending snowstorms.
