Glen Oaks honors students, alumni, faculty and staff at annual awards ceremonies
Glen Oaks Community College recognized the accomplishments of students, faculty, staff and alumni during two award ceremonies Wednesday.

Glen Oaks Community College recognized excellence across its campus community during two awards ceremonies held Wednesday, April 30, celebrating the accomplishments of students, faculty, staff and alumni.
During the afternoon Student Achievement Awards Ceremony, Glen Oaks President Dr. Bryan Newton presented the President’s Award to standout student Addison Nally. The evening’s Annual Awards Ceremony highlighted several honorees for their outstanding leadership, service, and academic contributions.
President’s Award and President’s Academic Award – Addison Nally

Addison Nally, of South Bend, Indiana, earned both the President’s Award and the President’s Academic Award for his exceptional academic performance and leadership. A member of the Viking baseball team, Nally is graduating with a certificate in electrical technologies and maintained a GPA of 3.938 or higher. He will begin a business internship this summer with Notre Dame Federal Credit Union before entering an electrical apprenticeship with the IBEW in South Bend.
Outstanding Service Award – Christian Monsivaes
Christian Monsivaes, IT support specialist, received the Outstanding Service Award for his dedication and impact at Glen Oaks. Known for his calm presence and tireless commitment, Monsivaes has been instrumental in supporting faculty, staff and students across campus, particularly during high-stakes events such as the presidential search interviews.
Fellows Award – Nancy Percival
Nancy Percival, a longtime supporter of Glen Oaks, received the Fellows Award in recognition of her 12 years of service on the Board of Trustees and her decades of advocacy for education and workforce development. A former part-time employee of the college, she has served on numerous community boards and remains an active voice for the value of community colleges.
Up and Coming Distinguished Alumni Award – Nathan Denton
Nathan Denton, a 2019 graduate, was recognized with the Up and Coming Distinguished Alumni Award. Denton teaches computing and IT at the Indiana Digital Learning School and has contributed to curriculum development for the CompTIA Tech+ certification. He also remains actively involved with Glen Oaks through the Delta Rho chapter of Epsilon Pi Tau.
Distinguished Alumni Award – Jakki Bungart-Bibb
Jakki Bungart-Bibb, a 2004 graduate, was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award for her significant contributions to workforce development. She currently serves as Director of Operations for the Center for Workforce Innovation and Solutions at the W.E. Upjohn Institute and Director for Michigan Works! Southwest, overseeing a four-county service area.
Part-Time Faculty Teaching Excellence Award – Erin Goff
Criminal justice instructor Erin Goff received the Part-Time Faculty Teaching Excellence Award for her engaging instruction and dedication to student success. Goff has also led emergency preparedness efforts on campus, including redesigning the college’s Emergency Operations Plan.
E. J. Shaheen Chair for Teaching Excellence – Sara Main
Mathematics faculty member Sara Main was named the 2025 recipient of the E. J. Shaheen Chair for Teaching Excellence. Main, who returned to Glen Oaks as a full-time faculty member in 2022, has developed new curriculum and is recognized by peers for her active learning approach and strong student focus. She previously taught at Jackson College and Western Michigan University.
The awards reflect Glen Oaks Community College’s commitment to celebrating achievement, leadership and service throughout the campus and greater community.
