Background/bio

Hi I am Josh Hoeppner, I work in the insurance inspection industry, where attention to detail, responsibility, and honesty are a part of my everyday job. I believe in hard work, treating people with respect, and giving back to the community that’s given so much to my family. 

Why are you running for the office of Three Rivers City Commissioner?

I am running for this office because I believe our city deserves leadership that is transparent, accountable, and willing to listen. Too many people feel like their voices aren’t being heard. I want to help build trust between residents and city government while focusing on practical solutions that improve our everyday life. 

Have you previously held public office, or have you served in a public leadership role?

No

If not, describe any experience — professional, volunteer, or otherwise — that you believe is relevant to serving as Three Rivers City Commissioner.

I have not held elected office before, I’ve spent years working directly with homeowners and businesses, solving  problems and being accountable for my work. I believe public service is about listening, being available, and making decisions that benefit the entire community. I bring a fresh perspective and a strong work ethic.

How long have you lived in the area you are seeking to represent?

I have lived in this district for around 9 years.

In your opinion, what are the three most important issues to the area relative to the scope of the position you are seeking, and why?

First, infrastructure. Our roads, water systems, and other public infrastructure are essential to our quality of life. 

Second, transparency and accountability. Residents deserve to know how decisions are made, how their money is being spent, and to have confidence that the city government is working for them.

Third, economic growth and supporting local businesses. We need to create an environment where businesses want to invest, families want to live, and young people want to stay.

What measures will you pursue to address those issues?

For infrastructure, I would support long term planning instead of waiting until problems become emergencies. I’d work to prioritize road and utility improvements based on need. I would make sure projects are completed efficiently and transparently.

For transparency and accountability, I want residents to feel informed and involved. I’ll encourage clear communication about major city projects, budgets, and commission decisions. I’ll be accessible to residents, listen to their concerns, and explain the reasoning behind my votes so people know they’re being represented.

For economic growth, I’d support policies that make Three Rivers attractive to businesses and families. That includes maintaining quality infrastructure, working with local businesses to understand their needs, and encouraging responsible development.

How would you ensure better protection and service for the most vulnerable and underserved populations in Three Rivers?

I will work to ensure every resident is treated fairly by supporting accessible city services, strong community partnerships, and policies that improve safety and quality of life for everyone.

How would you promote transparency and maintain public trust in city government?

I will promote transparency by communicating openly, explaining my decisions, and encouraging public involvement. I believe trust is earned through honesty, accountability, and making decisions that put the residents of Three Rivers first.

What values or guiding principles shape your approach to public service?

My approach to public service is guided by integrity, transparency, accountability, and respect. I believe in listening to residents, making informed decisions, and always putting the best interests of Three Rivers community first.

I’m running because I believe Three Rivers deserves leadership that is honest, transparent, and accountable. I’ll listen to the people in the city of Three Rivers, and ensure every voice is heard. My commitment is simple: to serve the community with integrity and always put the people of Three Rivers first.
