Dowagiac man arrested after threatening family member with firearm
The suspect, whose name is being withheld pending arraignment, will face charges of felony firearm, domestic violence, and felonious assault.

A 52-year-old man was arrested in Dowagiac Wednesday morning after allegedly threatening a family member with a firearm, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to a residence in the 25000 block of Morton St. on Wednesday, June 11 at approximately 10:30 a.m. on a report of a man with a gun threatening a family member. Officials say the man also reportedly threatened to burn down the home with occupants still inside.
The suspect was arrested without incident, and deputies ensured all other individuals present were safe. A search of the property was conducted, and a firearm matching the description given by the victim was recovered. The suspect, whose name is being withheld pending arraignment, will face charges of felony firearm, domestic violence, and felonious assault.
Assisting agencies included the Dowagiac Police Department, Pokagon Tribal Police Department, and K-9 Sitka. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
